SBI PO 2026 prelims result out, mains already held on 12 September

State Bank of India declared the Probationary Officer (CRPD/PO/2026-27/09) Preliminary Examination result on 28 August 2026. Candidates who sat the prelims on 1 and 2 August can check their status on the SBI careers portal.
Qualified candidates moved straight to the Main Examination, held on 12 September 2026, a gap of about two weeks. That timeline leaves little room to start preparing only after the result lands, so anyone attempting this cycle again next year should plan on revising mains-level topics (data analysis and interpretation, general and banking awareness, and the letter writing and essay section) alongside prelims prep rather than after it.
What this cycle is recruiting for
This notification (Advt No CRPD/PO/2026-27/09) recruits Probationary Officers against 1,500 vacancies, SBI’s own published figure. Selection runs in three stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and a Group Exercise and Interview for candidates who clear the main.
Full pattern, eligibility, the pay scale, and the running schedule for this cycle are on the SBI PO exam page.
