What APPSC CCE is
The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission’s Combined Competitive Examination recruits into Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service (APCS), Arunachal Pradesh Police Service (APPS), and a range of allied Group A and Group B posts, CDPO, DIPRO, District Forest and Conservation Officer, District Transport Officer, Labour Officer, Station Superintendent and Assistant Section Officer among them, through one combined notification and merit list. It is the state’s own civil service exam, at the same tier as Assam PSC CCE or any other state’s civil service exam, not a central UPSC recruitment, though a candidate weighing both should read what a sarkari exam actually is for how state and central civil services differ structurally.
Who can apply
The core requirement is a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. Beyond qualification, APPSC CCE carries a distinctive eligibility layer most other state PSC exams do not: candidates must hold both a valid Arunachal Pradesh Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) and an Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) certificate. This is a narrower bar than a general domicile requirement, and it is worth confirming your own documentation against the current notification well before the application window closes, since obtaining these certificates is not instant.
How selection runs
Selection follows the standard three-stage state civil service structure: a Preliminary Examination that screens candidates but does not itself count towards final merit, a Main Examination of written papers whose exact subjects and marks are set out in the specific notification, and an Interview. Candidates applying for Arunachal Pradesh Police Service (APPS) posts specifically also sit a Physical Efficiency Test. Because APPSC’s own published pattern and marks distribution can vary meaningfully between cycles, and because APPSC’s exam name is easy to confuse in a general web search with Assam’s differently-run APSC CCE, always confirm the pattern against APPSC’s own current notification rather than a generic “state PSC exam” study resource.
Preparing the application

The application fee for general and APST candidates is two hundred rupees. PwD candidates apply without paying a fee.
On exam day
Carry the printed admit card and an original government photo identification matching the name and photo on the admit card. No electronic devices are permitted inside the examination hall.
