What the concurso da Policia Federal is
The Policia Federal is the federal police force of the Republic, vinculated to the Ministerio da Justica e Seguranca Publica, and its atribuicoes are set by article 144 of the Constituicao Federal: preventing and investigating crimes against the political and social order, crimes with interstate or international ramifications, drug trafficking, contrabando and descaminho, and exercising as autoridade de policia maritima, aerea and de fronteiras. The concurso da PF recruits into five cargos policiais: Agente de Policia Federal, Escrivao de Policia Federal, Delegado de Policia Federal, Perito Criminal Federal and Papiloscopista Policial Federal. All are estatutary federal posts. This page consolidates the parameters of the 2025 edicao, run by Cebraspe. The cargos and their atribuicoes
The five cargos share the polícia judiciária mandate but divide the work. The Agente is the operational field investigator: mandados de prisao, cumprimento de mandado de busca e apreensao, escolta e conducao de presos, and support to investigations opened by the Delegado. The Escrivao is the servidor who lavra the peca formal of the police investigation, dirigindo the trabalho cartorario of the delegacia, ouvindo testemunhas and formalising the inquerito policial. The Delegado, privative de bacharel em Direito, presides the inquerito, decides the abertura de investigacoes, requests medidas cautelares to the Poder Judiciario and represents the PF na esfera juridica. The Perito Criminal Federal, from an area de formacao superior definida pelo edital (engenharia, ciencias forenses, quimica, biologia, ciencia da computacao, medicina and others), produces the laudo pericial that carries evidentiary weight. The Papiloscopista handles the identificacao datiloscopica of the accused and vitimas and the perícia papiloscopica of impressoes latentes.
Salaries and vagas of the 2025 edital
The edital of the concurso PF 2025 was published on 13 May 2025 with 1,000 immediate vagas, distributed as 630 Agentes, 160 Escrivaes, 120 Delegados, 69 Peritos and 21 Papiloscopistas. The starting remuneracao under the 2025 tabela was R$ 14,164.81 for Agente, Escrivao and Papiloscopista, and R$ 26,800.00 for Delegado and Perito Criminal Federal, with the auxilio-alimentacao added on top and the adicional for lotacao em regiao de fronteira paid per day worked in that band.
How the certame runs
The concurso has five phases: prova objetiva, prova discursiva, Teste de Aptidao Fisica (TAF), avaliacao medica and avaliacao psicologica alongside the Sindicancia da Vida Pregressa, and Curso de Formacao Profissional at the Academia Nacional de Policia. The prova objetiva is a Cebraspe folha de respostas in certo ou errado format split into Conhecimentos Basicos (Portuguese, Informatica, Raciocinio Logico, Direito Administrativo, Direito Constitucional, Direito Penal, Direito Processual Penal, Legislacao Especial) and Conhecimentos Especificos calibrated per cargo. The prova discursiva is a dissertacao and questoes especificas corrected only for candidates classified within the corte on the objetiva, from a public espelho de correcao. The TAF applies baremos different for men and women, with elimination if the candidate fails any single teste. The Curso de Formacao at the ANP, in Brasilia, is eliminatory and classificatory in itself, and it carries a bolsa paid during the training.
Regime juridico and validity of the certame
Cargos filled through the concurso da PF are estatutarios federais under Lei 8.112/1990 with the carreira policial complements set by Lei 9.266/1996. The candidate takes posse as servidor after aprovação in all phases and after the CFP is concluded; the estagio probatorio runs three years, and estabilidade is only granted after that. The validity of the certame is two years from the homologacao, extendable by another two, and vacancies opened during that window can be preenchidas com cadastro de reserva without a new edital.
Preparation and what candidates get wrong
The Cebraspe formato certo ou errado penalises randomised chutes: each wrong item subtracts a right one, so a scattergun approach converges on zero. The rational strategy is to leave blank whatever the candidate cannot defend. On the substantive side, the largest programmatic bloco is Direito Penal and Direito Processual Penal, and its jurisprudencia dos tribunais superiores is refreshed by Cebraspe every edicao, so a candidate studying only from a textbook of two years old is not aligned with the doctrine actually cobrada. The TAF is often underprepared, and eliminations there discard candidates who cleared the intellectual bar; a serious preparation runs the TAF trainings from the first day of study, not as a final phase warm-up.
Preparing the application and on exam day
Inscription runs through the Cebraspe portal for the current edital, at cebraspe.org.br/concursos/pf_25 for the 2025 edicao. The site’s photo-resizer tool can bring a photograph to whatever dimensions the edital states, and its age-calculator confirms the minimum age of eighteen is met on the data-limite. On the day of the prova arrive at the local at least sixty minutes before the horario de fechamento dos portoes on the cartao de confirmacao. Carry the printed cartao, an original photo identification (RG, CNH or passaporte) matching the inscription, and a black ballpoint pen with a transparent barrel. Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators and any electronic device are banidos.
