What DMRC Recruitment is

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation runs its own recruitment exams for posts such as Junior Engineer, Station Controller/Train Operator, Customer Relations Assistant, and other technical and non-technical roles across the Delhi Metro network. It is a public sector undertaking exam that serves one metro system’s operational needs directly, rather than a central government cadre feeding postings nationwide, which is why it is kept separate from the national railway exams also covered on this site.

Each notification names one or more specific posts, and the qualification, exam pattern weighting, and further stages differ depending on which post a candidate applies for; some posts (like Station Controller/Train Operator) also involve a psycho test and medical standards specific to train operation.

Who can apply

A relevant Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required for technical posts, and a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline for non-technical posts, as specified in the notification for that particular post. The general age limit is up to 30 years as on the date specified in the notification, with standard relaxations for reserved categories and persons with disability.

How the exam runs

The Written Examination is a computer based objective test covering General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General English, and knowledge specific to the notified post, with negative marking as specified in the notification.

Candidates who clear the written stage proceed to an Interview and, for certain posts, a Skill Test or Psycho Test relevant to that role’s operational demands, such as train operation. A Medical Examination follows before appointment, with fitness standards specific to certain posts (for example, roles involving train operation carry stricter vision and reflex standards than office-based roles).

Preparing the application

DMRC specifies exact photograph and signature requirements in each notification rather than a fixed year to year standard, so check the current notification’s dimensions and file size before uploading. The tools on this site can resize your photograph to whatever specific target the notification states.

On exam day

Arrive at least an hour before the reporting time on your admit card, with the printed admit card and a government photo identification matching the name and photo on the admit card. No electronic devices are permitted inside the exam centre.

The official DMRC website, linked above, carries the current post-wise vacancies, syllabus, and schedule for the cycle you are applying to.
